Mark Stevens 1969 442

This wasn't my Fathers Oldsmobile, it was my brothers

My brother Dennis purchased this 442 about the same time (1971) that I got my '67 Cutlass.  It started out life as a Saffron Yellow with Black hood stripes.  The color was not only an attraction for bee's but for Smokies also, so we painted it 1972 Corvette Brighampton Blue.

In around 1977 I rebuilt the engine, repainted it again and put on a new vinyl top.  Also about that time my brother quit driving it as his girlfriend and wife to be, felt it a bit to loud and boisterous to ride in.  Around 1984 my brother donated the car to me.  By that time the paint had faded and there was no paint left on the hood, but after a tune up, new brakes, new exhaust, new paint on the hood, and new tires she was back on the road again.  I drove "Ol Blue" until 1991 when she was retired to the back yard for future restoration and that is where she sits today.
